Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

  • ½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 4 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup water
  • 6 boneless pork chops

Preheat outdoor grill for high heat.

In small saucepan, combine brown sugar, apple juice, oil, soy sauce, ginger, salt, and pepper. Bring to boil. Combine water and cornstarch in small bowl. Whisk into brown sugar mixture. Stir until thick.

Brush grate lightly with oil before placing pork chops on grill. Cook over hot coatls for 10 to 12 minutes, turning once. Brush with sauce just before removing chops from grill. Serve with remaining sauce.

Although I thought this would be a great dinner, it turns out I didn’t really like it. The sauce was tasty on it’s own, and would likely be great in another way. The pork chops were dry and relatively unflavorful. The hubby (aka the griller), said it could be his fault, but I’ve noticed boneless porkchops usually ended dry. So in the end, likely we will not have this one again.
